Rudd’s Pub Ride

A damp morning greeted all 3 of us who turned up for the ride to Rudd’s Pub. We headed to Boonah for smoko, a relatively good ride except for the traffic lights, couldn’t get a green to save ourselves, at least to this point we stayed dry.

After smoko and a good chat we headed for Nobby via Cunningham’s Gap. With Fordy not having the biggest fuel range we decided to top with fuel at Aratula, at this point looking towards the Gap we could see there was a fair chance we could get wet, within minutes the first few spots of rain were felt at the servo so we donned the wet gear and headed off, not far up the road we got a heavy shower, fortunately it stopped before heading up the mountain but the road was still wet. Cresting the Gap found the temp dropping to 10 degrees. Taking a right off the highway at Gladfield we followed the Cedar route to Allora where we joined the New England Highway, we took the turn at Spring Creek Caravan park and went to Rudd’s Pub via Clifton.

After a great burger at the pub we decide to head home which would take down the Gatton Clifton Road to MA MA Creek., as luck would have it we copped the heaviest rain of the day from Nobby to Pilton. The road got drier the further we went down the mountain which made for a nice run along Heifer Creek.

We stopped at Plainlands for a bum break and Fordy to top up, with the prevailing conditions we took the decision not ride over Glorious. With a light shower on the way down the highway we an easy run home.

So all in all we had a great day out! Thanks, Pumbaa & Fordy.
